Wood selection tips are essential for decoration enthusiasts

How to choose common decorative wood? Decoration naturally relies on the main materials used by carpenters.

Fine woodworking board: The middle of the fine woodworking board is a core made of natural wood strips bonded together, and both sides are glued with very thin wood veneer, commonly known as large core board, which is one of the most important materials in decoration. It has good waterproof performance and can be used to make furniture, wooden doors and door frames, heating covers, curtain boxes, etc.

How to choose common decorative wood? Decoration naturally relies on the main materials used by carpenters. The commonly seen wooden decorative materials in the market now are various types of wooden artificial boards, artificial decorative panels, assembly, and wooden wire strips.

1、 Wooden artificial board.

Wood based panel is a board made from wood, wood fibers, wood chips, or other plant fibers, with adhesives and other additives added. The main varieties of wood-based panels include veneer, plywood, particleboard, fiberboard, and particleboard.

Plywood: Plywood is made of three or more layers of veneer glued together, and is divided into two types: hardwood glued plywood and coniferous glued plywood.

Fiberboard: Fiberboard is an artificial board made by processing plant fibers such as wood, bamboo, or other crop stems. Fiberboard is divided into three types based on their properties: hard fiberboard, semi-rigid fiberboard, and soft fiberboard. It is mainly used to reinforce wooden flooring, door panels, partition walls, furniture, etc.

Particle board: Particle board, also known as particleboard, is a general term for thin boards made by pressing wood chips as the main raw material, applying bonding materials and additives. According to the pressing method, it can be divided into extruded particle board and flat pressed particle board. It is currently the main material for cabinets.

Chipboard: It is made by cutting, drying, gluing, and hot pressing leftover materials from the edges and corners of wood processing.

Wood fiber board, also known as Wanli board, is made by using wood scraps, machine planing poplar wood fibers, soaking them in chemical solutions, and then mixing them with cement. It is molded, pressed, solidified, and dried.

2、 Artificial decorative panel.

Artificial decorative panels include decorative thin wood veneer panels and lacquer architectural decorative panels. Decorative thin wood veneer is a new type of advanced decorative material. It is made by using precious tree species such as teak, water chestnut, willow wood, etc., finely sliced into thin wooden pieces, using plywood as the substrate, and advanced adhesives and bonding processes. Daqi architectural decorative panel is one of the unique decorative panels in China. It is made by coating various wood substrates with China's unique lacquer.

3、 Assemble wooden flooring.

Assembled wooden flooring is a small strip of wood made from high-quality woods such as water chestnut, oak, walnut, and teak, which are dried and processed. After assembly, they can form beautiful and elegant patterns.

4、 Wooden lines.

Wood lines are made from hard, fine wood, wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant, non splitting, good surface finishing properties, good paint coloring, good adhesion, and strong nail force wood plants. After drying treatment, they are processed mechanically or manually. Wooden lines include ceiling lines and ceiling corner lines.

The first thing to consider when purchasing wood is whether it is environmentally friendly. According to regulations, the formaldehyde emission of indoor building materials must be less than or equal to 1.5 milligrams per liter. If it exceeds 5 milligrams per liter, it is considered unqualified.

Next, we need to consider the moisture content of the wood. When the moisture content of the wood is higher than the equilibrium moisture content of the environment, the wood will dry and shrink, otherwise it will absorb moisture and expand. The main reason for wood cracking and deformation is that the moisture content is too high or too low. Finally, when making a purchase, do not only aim for cheap prices. Materials sold at low prices are usually of poor quality and severely exceed formaldehyde standards. It is advisable to purchase them from legitimate markets, preferably branded materials.
