How to judge the quality of LVL board
Firstly, the quality of LVL plywood can be judged by the sound of hitting the core board. Generally speaking, high-quality plywood has a whole core board with good quality and tight seams between the core boards; When tapping the board, the sound is "crisp". Poor quality plywood core boards are made by splicing small pieces of core boards together, with many insect holes and dead joints on the core boards. The joints between the core boards are large, and the stacking distance from the core is severe; When tapping the board, the sound is muffled.
Secondly, it can be determined from the thickness of the board
High quality plywood, with small thickness tolerances between the entire batch of boards, and uniform thickness in different parts of a single plywood; However, low-quality plywood has a large thickness tolerance between the entire batch of boards, and the thickness of different parts of a single plywood is uneven. The thickness difference between different parts can even be greater than 1mm (nowadays, with good sanding machines, the thickness tolerance is generally very small).
Thirdly, distinguish from the intensity aspect
Let's lift one end of the LVL plywood and shake it vigorously a few times. If we feel that the board is very solid, it means that its internal quality is good and its strength is high; Assuming the board shakes and makes a creaking sound, it indicates poor strength of the board. The worst plywood may even crack due to severe internal structural problems caused by severe shaking.
The fourth can be distinguished from the odor aspect
Assuming the board emits a pungent odor, it indicates that the board's environmental friendliness does not meet the standards; Environmentally friendly plywood emits the odor of the wood itself, which is non irritating. However, if we want to ultimately confirm whether the plywood meets environmental requirements, we need to hire a specialized artificial board testing arrangement for testing.
